Couple of updates on Dad.
Sunday, June 2nd, Dad told me that his leg (hip) was really bothering him. He said the God touched his leg, and as of yesterday he said his leg was still pain free, which is awesome!!
Yesterday, June 11th, I took Mom and Dad to Trinity church cemetary and "staked out" the site of where they wanted to be buried. It is right beside Wilton/Ruth Becks plot/head stone which I thought was nice since they have always been close to them. I met with the pastor [at Trinity] and he was going to have the paperwork filed so that it could be properly "deeded" to mom/dad.
Last week I had the conversation with dad about changing their "will". I was very thankful that he agreed that it needed to be changed from leaving everything to mom to leaving everything to a "trust". I have forwarded the "will" over to the attorney that I deal with [Misti Whitman] for her to make that adjustments. Basically, the will was set up to leave everything to the spouse in the event one of them died. The problem with that was that if Mom needed any additional care that we couldn't provide, the "state" would spend down all of their assets before any assistance would be given. Putting everything in a "trust" will eliminate this from happening.
Dad told me yesterday that while he appreciated everything, that he didn't plan to leave this earth anytime soon......and he laughed. I told him that I hoped he lived another 20 years, but I was relieved to get this done. He agreed, but believes that he is doing better, and other than him still being very tired, I think he is as well. He still has a hard time holding his urine very long.......yesterday he kept having to go........but other than that, he seemed to be doing well.

ReplyDeletewell this is the first time I've been on the blog.. I just now checked my email.. I think the blog is a great idea..... everyone knows I'm the ultimate blogger.....not...haha... so happy that dad has been feeling much better seems like everytime I talk to him on the phone he is in good spirits:) .... oo just to make a quick correction to Tom's birthday wish to me ..thanks tom :) but I would prefer to stay at 35 and not go clear to 37 at this point..;)

Thank for the update. Today is June 15th and just talked with Dad and Mom. Still a great report on the leg. So thankful. Dad was out just this morning riding his bike was doing good.
